Hi! My name is Lindsey Korn, but I go by Frankly Speaking for my photography. I chose Frankly Speaking as a name for myself, mostly because my real name didn’t quite work for me as a brand name. So I made one.
I first discovered my love of photography while studying a Bachelor of Design and Communication at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC), graduating in 2018 with a major in Graphic Design and a minor in Photography.
I still live on the Sunshine Coast and haven’t stopped learning and growing my skills in photography, however I have found that graphic design wasn’t the industry for me. Because of this, I decided to broaden my study with a Dual Diploma in Building Design/Interior Design, which I am currently studying and enjoying every bit of it.
While I’m not studying or otherwise working, I travel with my partner, each trip allowing us to see more and more of Australia’s beautiful landscapes. Of course, I always take my gear with me so that I can capture our travels. I have two digital SLR cameras that I use (a Sony a65 and a Sony a7iii), as well as a Ricoh 35zf film camera that I often use even more than my digital cameras, simply because of the joy that shooting film brings.
Although I am not usually hired for work as I am studying and photography has become more of a hobby than a profession, I do occasional photographic work for clients, friends and family, such as family shoots and formal shoots.
If you’d like to see more of my work and keep up to date with what I’m doing, I’m on Instagram at @f.speaking. Otherwise, feel free to check out my portfolio in the navigation menu at the top of the page.
